Our 4 days ultimate Gorilla tracking experience will take you to Bwindi Forest where you get up close to the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, witness one of the old indigenous tribes know as the Batwa pygmies.
Itinerary
Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport where your Uganda Adventure Safari starts by our driver guide from Nyumbu Beyond Safaris who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities. Your will then be transferred to your hotel where you will be briefed about your adventure safari.
Early morning after breakfast transfer to Entebbe Airport to catch a domestic flight to Kisoro Airstrip. The flight takes approximately one hour. You will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the lodge which is 35km away. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park which lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, dating back over 25,000 years and contain almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” is home to half of the remaining Mountain Gorillas in the world. After lunch, you can either relax at the lodge or do some optional activities.
After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure, after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these amazing apes. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones.
Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitual and the many species they share it with. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge. If your trek was relatively short, you may opt for optional activities.
After an ultimate Gorilla experience and beautiful scenes, you will be transferred early morning to Kisoro Airstrip to catch a domestic flight back to Entebbe Airport (Arrival at 11:25am) where you will catch your onward flight back to your next destination
