Chapter 1:

Nairobi

Days 1–2 | Arrival in Kenya

Karibu Kenya. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to Hemingways Nairobi, your home for the next two nights.

Nestled beneath the Ngong Hills in the historic suburb of Karen, Hemingways Nairobi occupies one of Kenya’s most celebrated safari places, forever associated with Karen Blixen’s Out of Africa. The surrounding area remains the spiritual birthplace of Kenya’s luxury safari tradition, where conservation, literature, and wildlife continue to shape the country’s identity. The hotel’s timeless elegance pays tribute to the spirit of Ernest Hemingway, whose African adventures helped shape the world’s imagination of safari. Inspired by timeless East African safari elegance, the property combines grand plantation-style architecture, high ceilings, polished marble, handcrafted timber furnishings, and expansive private balconies overlooking tropical gardens. The hotel features 45 spacious suites, each with generous living areas, marble bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes, and butler service, creating an atmosphere of refined comfort and understated luxury. Dining celebrates both Kenyan and international cuisine, prepared using fresh seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms. Whether enjoying breakfast on the terrace, afternoon tea overlooking the gardens, or fine dining accompanied by an award-winning wine selection, every meal reflects Hemingways’ long-standing reputation for exceptional hospitality. Your first day is yours to recover from your international journey or explore Nairobi’s remarkable conservation attractions. Visit the Giraffe Centre, home to the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes, meet rescued orphaned elephants at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, or discover the fascinating history of Karen Blixen at her former home, made famous through Out of Africa. Those wishing to begin their safari immediately may enjoy a game drive inside Nairobi National Park, where lions, rhinos, giraffes, and zebras roam against the city’s skyline. Return to Hemingways for a relaxing evening before your wilderness adventure begins.

Chapter 2:

Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Days 3–5 | Kenya’s Conservation Heart

After breakfast, transfer to Wilson Airport for your scheduled charter flight north toward the foothills of Mount Kenya.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to Tambarare Camp, your home for the next three nights. Situated within the renowned Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Tambarare Camp is an intimate luxury tented camp surrounded by acacia fever trees overlooking open grasslands where wildlife moves freely throughout the day. Designed with classic East African safari elegance, the camp features ten canvas suites built on raised wooden platforms. Natural canvas, timber, leather furnishings, locally crafted décor, and spacious verandas create a seamless connection with the surrounding wilderness. En-suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor seating areas, and attentive personalised service ensure every stay combines comfort with authenticity. Dining celebrates fresh farm-to-table cuisine inspired by Kenya’s fertile central highlands. Seasonal vegetables, artisan breads, locally sourced meats, homemade desserts, and carefully selected wines are enjoyed in the open-air dining area, around the campfire, or during memorable bush breakfasts and sundowners overlooking the conservancy.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is one of Africa’s greatest conservation success stories, protecting the world’s last two remaining northern white rhinos, one of East Africa’s largest populations of black rhinos, and the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya. Days are spent exploring this remarkable landscape on expertly guided game drives in search of lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, Grevy’s zebras, Jackson’s hartebeest, and numerous antelope species. In addition to traditional safaris, exclusive experiences reveal the pioneering conservation work taking place here. Visit the Northern White Rhino enclosure, meet the dedicated conservation teams protecting these iconic animals, tour the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, embrace guided bush walks, night game drives, lion tracking experiences, horseback riding, cycling safaris, and visits to local community projects supported by the conservancy. Evenings conclude beside the campfire beneath brilliant African night skies listening to distant lion calls echo across the plains.

Chapter 3:

Sarara Conservancy

Days 6–8 | Northern Kenya’s Hidden Wilderness

After breakfast, board your scheduled charter flight north into Kenya’s spectacular Northern semi-arid landscape.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to Sarara Treehouses, your home for the next three nights. Hidden high within the forested slopes of the Mathews Range inside the vast 850,000-acre Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy, the lodge occupies a prime wilderness environment. Unlike the open savannahs of southern Kenya, this landscape is defined by rugged mountains, river valleys, ancient forests, and rolling plains where wildlife and Samburu communities have coexisted for generations. A distinctive safari property, Sarara Treehouses features eight elevated treehouses, each handcrafted from sustainably sourced timber, natural stone, woven fibres, and local materials that blend effortlessly into the surrounding canopy. Suspended among indigenous trees, every suite offers spacious bedrooms, elegant lounge areas, private viewing decks, open-air bathrooms, deep soaking tubs, outdoor showers, and uninterrupted views across the conservancy below. The architecture celebrates simplicity, privacy, and immersion in nature and maintaining the highest standards of luxury altogether. The central lodge overlooks the famous Sarara waterhole, where elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and numerous plains game gather throughout the day. An infinity pool, wellness treatments, fire-lit lounges, and open-air dining terraces provide peaceful spaces to unwind between activities. Dining at Sarara reflects northern Kenya’s rich culinary heritage, combining fresh produce from local farms with seasonal ingredients and refined international cuisine. Bush breakfasts beneath towering fig trees, leisurely lunches overlooking the valley, sunset cocktails around the waterhole, and lantern-lit dinners beneath star-filled skies create memorable moments throughout your stay.

Namunyak Conservancy is a good example of community-led conservation. The protected landscape is rich in biodiversity including lions, leopards, African wild dogs, as well as elephants, Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, gerenuk, greater kudu, Beisa oryx, lesser kudu, and over 450 bird species, many of which are unique to northern Kenya. Beyond traditional game drives, explore the conservancy on expertly guided walking safaris with Samburu naturalists, ride on horseback through open valleys, adventurous mountain hikes in the Mathews Range, visit traditional Samburu manyattas, or spend time at the internationally acclaimed Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, Africa’s first community-owned elephant orphanage, where rescued calves are rehabilitated before returning to the wild. You may also witness the remarkable Singing Wells, where Samburu warriors gather, and chanting traditional songs as they draw water for their livestock, an ancient cultural tradition found nowhere else in East Africa. Fly camping beneath the stars, photographic safaris, bird watching excursions, and conservation experiences are available for you to explore during your stay. As the sunsets, elephants tend to walk beneath your treehouse. The sounds of the forest replace the bustle of everyday life, making for one of Kenya’s last truly wild places, where luxury, culture, conservation, and wilderness exist in extraordinary harmony.

Chapter 4:

Kitirua Conservancy

Days 9–10 | Beneath Mount Kilimanjaro’s Shadow

Following breakfast, board your scheduled charter flight south to the Amboseli ecosystem.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Kitirua Plains Lodge, your home for two three nights. Nestled within the private Kitirua Conservancy, adjacent to Amboseli National Park, the lodge occupies one of Kenya’s most spectacular wilderness settings beneath the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The conservancy protects one of East Africa’s most important elephant migration corridors and offers an opportunity for exclusive safari experiences unavailable within the national park itself. The intimate lodge blends contemporary safari architecture with traditional Maasai influences. Spacious suites feature natural stone, canvas, timber beams, handcrafted furnishings, private terraces, outdoor showers, and floor-to-ceiling windows framing uninterrupted views across the surrounding plains toward Kilimanjaro. The central lounge, infinity pool, wellness spa, and elegant open-air dining areas create an atmosphere of quiet immersed within nature. Dining highlights seasonal Kenyan produce combined with international culinary techniques. Bush breakfasts beneath ancient acacia trees, gourmet picnic lunches during safari, lantern-lit dinners under the stars, and sunset cocktails overlooking Kilimanjaro transform every meal into a memorable safari experience. Kitirua forms part of the greater Amboseli ecosystem, renowned for its legendary elephant families, including some of Africa’s famous Super Tuskers. Morning and afternoon game drives reveal elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, bat-eared foxes, and more than 450 bird species across wetlands, acacia woodland, and open savannah.

Private conservancy access allows exceptional activities beyond the national park. Guided walking safaris with Maasai naturalists, night drives searching for aardwolves, servals and other nocturnal wildlife, cultural visits to Maasai homesteads, wildlife photography experiences, conservation presentations, bush dining, mountain biking, and sundowners overlooking Kilimanjaro create a deeper understanding of this remarkable landscape. Between activities, relax beside the infinity pool while wildlife wanders across the plains below.

Chapter 5:

Maasai Mara National Reserve

Days 11-13 | Rivers of the Mara

Your final safari chapter begins with a scheduled charter flight west into Kenya’s legendary Maasai Mara.

Upon arrival, your guide transfers you to Sanctuary Olonana, your home for the next three nights. Positioned along a private stretch of the Mara River at the edge of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Sanctuary Olonana’s contemporary architecture blends glass, timber, natural stone, and traditional African craftsmanship to maximize spectacular river views of the surrounding forest. The lodge offers 14 spacious glass-fronted suites, including an exclusive private villa, each thoughtfully designed with expansive living spaces, en-suit bathrooms, private decks, indoor and outdoor showers, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river where hippos and crocodiles are frequently seen throughout the day. Exceptional dining celebrates the finest East African produce through beautifully prepared seasonal menus paired with premium wines. Guests enjoy riverside breakfasts, elegant lunches, candlelit dinners beneath African skies, bush picnics, and unforgettable sundowners overlooking the Mara plains.

The Maasai Mara remains one of the world’s greatest wildlife destinations, supporting extraordinary year-round concentrations of big cats including lions, leopards, cheetahs, among other large mammals such as elephants, buffaloes, and giraffes. Between July and October, the reserve hosts the dramatic Great Wildebeest Migration, when millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River in one of nature’s greatest spectacles. Experiences extend far beyond traditional game drives to give you  full-day safaris with expert guides, hot-air balloon flights followed by champagne breakfasts, guided walking safaris where permitted, bird watching, photographic safaris, cultural visits to Maasai communities, bush breakfasts, scenic sundowners, and wellness treatments overlooking the Mara River. Quiet moments on your private veranda watching hippos, elephants, and birds drift through the river below provide a fitting conclusion to an unforgettable Kenyan adventure.
